BASIC CONVERSATION

COURSE NUMBER 9599

Minimum number of students required 6, maximum 12

During the class, we will engage in role play and situations  targeted to travelers and people who wish to live in France. The students will be asked to come up with dialogues  pertaining to the following subjects: reserving a table at a restaurant  or a room at a hotel or going to banks and dealing with administration, health issues, shopping, etc. Students will be given many opportunities to  use their language skills.The class will be conducted mostly in French. At least 3 quarters of French are required.

Class Schedule:

Tuesdays : 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM /The class will run fromJuly 12th to August 23rd

FEES: $240 for 7 sessions of 2 hours

REVIEW OF FRENCH 4,5 and 6

COURSE NUMBER 9607

Minimum number of students required 6, maximum 12

During the class, we will review the grammar concepts studied In French, 4 , 5 and 6 , such as the 2 pasts, the relative pronouns , direct and indirect pronouns, the use of the partitive along with expressing would and should.

Class Schedule:

Thursdays : 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM / The class will run from

July 15th to August 25th . No class on July 14th.July 15th instead.

REVIEW OF FRENCH 1 AND 2

COURSE NUMBER 9608

This course is designed for students who have taken French 1 and 2. This class will be a full review of grammatical material of the 2 classes and will focus on conversation.

Wednesdays: 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM/ The class will run from July 13th to August 24th.

FEES: $240 for 7 sessions of 2 hours

CURRENT EVENTS THROUGH ZOOM

COURSE NUMBER 9600

During the quarter we will engage in discussions on current events based on  topics or publications regarding politics, economy, sociology and various aspects of French culture. Students will be given a great many opportunities to debate and extensively use their language skills.The class will be conducted solely in French. FLUENCY OR NEAR FLUENCY REQUIRED

FRENCH GRAMMAR TUNE UP TROUGH ZOOM

COURSE NUMBER: 9601

minimum number of students required 6, maximum 10

This course will focus on the review of grammar rules from French level 1 to 4. Before each class, the students will be given a particular grammar point to brush up on for the following session. After the explanation of the specific rules, each student will be asked  to come up with concrete examples to illustrate that particular point and  to contribute to the corrections of the given examples. This class is suitable for Intermediate students .

Class Schedule:

Fridays: 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM from 04/15/22/ to 05//20/22

FEES: $170 for six sessions of 2 hours

ADVANCED GRAMMAR

COURSE NUMBER: 9604

Minimum number of students required 5, maximum 10.

This class is designed for students who have had at least 5 or 6 quarters of French. We will discuss the most difficult grammar points such as the subjunctive and the conditional. Essays will be assigned to the students in order to apply the rules.

Fees: $170 for 6 sessions of 2 hours

FRENCH 6

This class is designed for students who have taken 4 quarters of French. We will work with the textbook Deux Mondes online /ebook or with the physical textbook ( 7th edition) . We will study chapters 9 and 10 of the textbook or ebook.

Class schedule:

Thursdays: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM from 04/07/22 to 05/26/22

Fees: $240 for 8 sessions of 2 hours . REGISTRATION REQUIRED  Once registered the students will receive a zoom invite for the class . Fees must be paid in full upon registration( prorating is not available)

INTERMEDIATE FRENCH

COURSE NUMBER: 9602

minimum number of students required 6, maximum 12

This class is suitable for students of intermediate level who would like to practice their conversational skills. During the course of this class, we will talk about topics pertaining to French culture, the arts, the food, the mentalities, the traditions and specialties in the various regions, cinema and songs.

Class Schedule:

Mondays: from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM from 04/04/22 to 05/16/22

FEES: $180 for 7 sessions of 2 hours

FRENCH LITERATURE/ BOOK CLUB

COURSE NUMBER: 9603

minimum number of students 5, maximum 10

Each course, a book or book excerpts will be chosen among classical literature or the most recent literary publications of French. During the course of 6 sessions, we will analyze this work, its style , talk about its various themes and aspects, symbols and meaning. We will explore the lives of the characters. ADVANCED LEVEL REQUIRED. Native speakers welcome

Spring quarter: A study of Madame Bovary by Flaubert

Class Schedule:

Wednesdays: 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM from 04/15/22 to 05/20/22

Fees: $170 for 6 sessions of 2 hours

FREQUENCY: UPON REQUEST: daily, weekly, bi weekly, monthly

Length of sessions: from 1 hour to 2 hours 30 minutes depending on age of students and goal.

Fees per hour: $50

SEMI PRIVATE CLASSES AVAILABLE- ALL LEVELS

2 people : 74$  per hour / 37$ per person

3 people: 90$ per hour / 30$ per person

REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Students will register for 4 classes at a time. Tuition due at registration.  Once registered, students will be sent an invite for 4 sessions at a time through a Zoom invite.
